The DRC and Zambian sides of Kasumbalesa border has been quite tense this morning.

International truck drivers started a strike, blocking movement of trucks into the DRC (inbound/import trucks) since Friday, 30 September 2022. This is due to insecurity and harassment of drivers in the DRC, mostly after passing Lubumbashi towards Kolwezi.

On Tuesday, 04 October 2022, DRC drivers also blocked movement of outbound/export trucks. As of this morning there has been no movement on both sides of the border, this includes pedestrians.

International trucks drivers are asking for high level DRC authorities to come and address the security issues before they resume movement.
