The Port of Bar has significant competitive advantages in relation to the Northern Adriatic ports, shortening the transit-time and creating savings in the cost of maritime transport. Integrated with the Belgrade-Bar railway and road traffic network, the Port represents very important link in the chain of intermodal transport and is granted the status of Free Zone. Montenegro is a developing area with a large flow of goods transit to and from Europe. The area imports raw materials such as aluminium, metals, etc for the local plants and building of new industrial complexes.
