For our Base Metals department we are looking for a Business Analyst to strengthen our team.
Tasks and responsibilities
The main purpose of this role is to support the international Steinweg offices with commercial and operational activities in relation to various metal exchanges with primary focus on the London Metal Exchange (LME)
Your tasks will be:
- Develop and maintain updated knowledge about the LME and alternative exchanges, the commodities handled, customers serviced as well as the main players in the industry.
- Analyzing market proposals for regulatory changes and preparing Steinweg feedback on these proposals.
- Analyzing information regarding client services, margins, and service performance on actual costs versus the calculated costs.
- Supporting commercial activities of the commercial division with existing customers and new customers.
- Managing exchange-order handling procedures, forwarders instructions and training.
- Representing Steinweg in relevant industries, verticals, and marketing events, in line with the goals set by the Commercial Division.
- Participating actively in (cross-functional) improvement projects with the aim to enhance the overall performance of the company.
What do we expect?
- A relevant completed Bachelor’s programme (HBO, WO) education in Logistics Engineering or Business Administration.
- You are looking for the first or second step in your career.
- Effective communication skills in Dutch and English.
- Knowledge of logistical processes.
- You are commercially driven and a good numerical insight.
- You are a good communicator and able to work independently.
