Digitalization and Software Integration

CargoWise Implementation

In 2018, Steinweg implemented CargoWise, a single-platform logistics and supply chain software solution. CargoWise is designed to improve integration, automation, and communication within the supply chain. Licensed in 170 countries, CargoWise offers flexible, comprehensive integrations with government, customer, third-party, and partner systems, ensuring compliance with customs and other regulations. This system provides real-time data visibility, enabling more efficient tracking and execution of logistics processes. By integrating business operations with customers and partners, CargoWise streamlines processes and increases the efficiency and visibility of operations.

BOS for Inventory Management

Steinweg’s in-house inventory management system, BOS, is used across all general warehousing facilities in Africa. BOS manages clients’ stock by recording and controlling every movement within our facilities, from entry to exit. Each movement is tracked using QR Codes, and scanned by security personnel upon exit, ensuring accurate and secure inventory management.

Insight Mobile Application

Complementing the BOS system, our in-house Insight Mobile Application is a live tablet system used to record all movements of cargo in the operational environment. This mobile application enhances the accuracy and efficiency of inventory management by providing real-time updates and seamless integration with BOS.

Transport Management and Tracking Soloplan (CARLO – Cargo Logistics)

Our transport division has deployed Soloplan (CARLO – Cargo Logistics), a leading global transport management software (TMS). Soloplan is SAP certified and a partner with Microsoft and Oracle, ensuring high compatibility and reliability. This TMS optimises transport operations, from scheduling and routing to tracking and delivery, improving overall efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Tracking and Security Controls

We have a dedicated transit risk team, which partners with professional recovery teams stationed throughout Southern Africa along key routes. This team significantly enhances the likelihood of recovery in case of issues during transit.

  • Integration of truck, cargo, and discreet tracking systems.
  • Hotspot vigilance and route deviation monitoring.
  • Trend analysis and transporter management of stop locations and turnaround times.
